DDW Pic 319. Tower of Terror

Tower of Terror
This a unique view of the Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios. I was actually at Fantasia Gardens Mini Golf when I took this shot. The mini golf course is located a short distance across Buena Vista Drive from the back of Hollywood Studios. The elevator shaft doors open on the opposite side, which faces the rest of the park. I enjoy getting "non traditional" pictures of attractions from unique angles such as this. I couldn't resist snapping this one, as the Tower of Terror is one of my favorites.

  1. Disney’s Tower of Terror ride/attraction came first, then came the 1997 Disney movie of the same name. Tower of Terror the movie starred Steve Gutenberg and Kirsten Dunst. It was the first of several movies to be based on a Disney theme park attraction.

Rod Serling, the creator of Twilight Zone was originally from Binghamton, NY.

Sterling Holloway, the original voice of Winnie the Pooh, was in a Twilight Zone episode named, “What’s in the Box”

John Fiedler, the voice of Piglet in Winnie the Pooh productions, and also supplied voices for several other characters in other Disney productions, was in a Twilight Zone episode named, “The Night of the Meek”

    The below information is from:,34512/

In some Twilight Zone episodes Rod Serling showed he had a sentimental feeling or his rival, Walt Disney.

In “A Stop at Willoughby”, James Daly was a New York ad-man, down on his luck, who wishes he were back in his classic small town of Willoughby. He finally moves back there and soon his mind wander off to idyll (a scene of idyllic charm). James Daly also was in Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color; “The Tenderfoot”.

Trade Willoughby for the charm of the Magic Kingdom.

In an episode written by Richard Matheson named “Young Man’s Fancy”, a mama’s boy returns to his late mothers home and reverts back to childhood right in front of his new wife’s eyes.

Kind of what we all do when we step into the Magic Kingdom.

  2. Very interesting stuff Mr. Smith! Thanks for sharing!
