DDW Pic 1673. Sand Sculpture

Sand Sculpture
Today, while walking through the Outpost section of World Showcase in Epcot, I saw this crew of artists working on an amazing sand sculpture. It is to promote the upcoming Jungle Book movie. Although I've seen sand sculptures around Walt Disney World in the past, this is the first I've seen in the process of being created.

DDW Pic 1672. Zanzibar Trading Company

Zanzibar Trading Company

The Zanzibar Trading Company is one of the gift shops in Adventureland. It is located right near the "spitting camel." I took this shot today, while my tour guests were riding The Magic Carpets of Aladdin.

DDW Pic 1671. Frontierland Shootin' Arcade

Frontierland Shootin' Arcade
The Frontierland Shootin' Arcade has been a fixture in that area of Magic Kingdom for as long as I can remember. It is a fun little activity that can be enjoyed without the need to wait in a long line. I took this shot while giving a tour today.

DDW Pic 1670. Speeder Bike

Speeder Bike
The new Star Wars Launch Bay in Hollywood Studios is full of replicas and models. However, there are actually a few items that were used in the movies, including this speeder bike from Return of the Jedi. I took this shot shortly after Launch Bay opened a few months ago.

DDW Pic 1669. Mickey Tower

Mickey Tower
This Mickey sits atop the "Crossroads Tower" just inside the entrance to Hollywood Studios. Mickey serves two purposes. He is there to welcome guests as they enter the park, and his right ear is actually a lightning rod. I took this shot just before entering the park a few weeks ago.

DDW Pic 1668. Snow White

Snow White
I took many topiary shots at the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival over the past few weeks. Here is Snow White and a few dwarfs. All seven of them are present, but difficult to get in one picture.  This display is in front of the Germany pavilion.

DDW Pic 1667. United Kingdom

United Kingdom
One of the things I enjoy doing most at Epcot is exploring the details of the countries in World Showcase. I did this a few days ago with my mom and dad. Here is a shot of the "Hyde Park" area of the United Kingdom.

DDW Pic 1666. Stormalong Bay Slide

Stormalong Bay Slide
Stormalong Bay is the exclusive pool for guests at the Yacht Club and Beach Club. It is actually more of a mini water park than a pool. Today, I took this shot of the "ship wreck," which is the starting point for a very unique water slide.

DDW Pic 1665. Future World West

Future World West
One of the highlights of a the Flower and Garden Festival is the thousands of flowers that are added to the grassy areas on the way into World Showcase. They really add to this shot I took today of Future World West. You can see Journey into Imagination, The Land, as well as a monorail in this photo.

DDW Pic 1664. Uzima Pool

Uzima Pool
Today, we spent some time at Animal Kingdom Lodge, enjoying the Uzima Pool. This is one of the largest pools on Disney property, and it includes a water slide and "zero entry" area. Today was one of those picture perfect Florida days.

DDW Pic 1663. Anna and Elsa

Anna and Elsa
Here is another shot from this year's Flower and Garden Festival. In the past, the Anna and Elsa topiaries were at the entrance to World Showcase. However, with the Frozen makeover happening in Norway, it makes sense for them to be in this area.

DDW Pic 1662. Raglan Road

Raglan Road
My wife and I went to Disney Springs on St. Patrick's Day. Although we didn't eat at Raglan Road, it was fun to see the party going on there. It was certainly the "place to be" on that night.

DDW Pic 1661. Kylo Ren

Kylo Ren
With the popularity of the latest Star Wars movie, it is not surprising that Kylo Ren has popped up in several spots at Hollywood Studios. Lately, he can be seen at Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple. He was recently added to the finale of this experience, which makes it even more fun. I took this shot last week, during a show that my young tour guest participated in.

DDW Pic 1660. Tangled

One of the best themed areas in the Magic Kingdom doesn't even involve an attraction. I'm speaking of the Tangled restrooms. Rapunzel's tower is located closeby, and is a great spot for photos. I took this shot while giving a tour last week.

DDW Pic 1659. T-Rex

We had a nice dinner at T-Rex at Disney Springs tonight. We sat next to the Coral Reef Aquarium. This amazing fish tank is full of tropical fish and bright colored coral.

DDW Pic 1658. Tower of Terror

Tower of Terror
Tower of Terror is one of my most photographed spots in Hollywood Studios. I have tried to get just about every angle of this iconic attraction. However, a few days ago, I discovered this view from the exit area of the Frozen Sing-Along show.

DDW Pic 1657. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
There are very few places on earth where humans can go for a ride inside a "hunny" pot. However, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh at the Magic Kingdom is one of those places. This pot just happens to contain four of my favorite tour guests.

DDW Pic 1656. Egg-stravaganza

As Easter approaches, it is time for the Epcot Easter egg hunt known as "Egg-stravaganza." Guests purchase a map for about $6.00 and search for the approximately 1 foot tall eggs, decorated as Disney characters, hidden around World Showcase. There is one egg at each country as well as at The Outpost. When guests find an egg, they place the corresponding sticker on the map. When the search is complete, they can pick up a prize, which is a small plastic Easter Egg. It is a fun way to pass the time while walking around World Showcase. I took this shot of the "Agent P" egg today, which can be found in Germany.

DDW Pic 1655. Bolt

There are many opportunities to meet characters all around Walt Disney World. However, there are some fun ones that rarely come out. Today, I saw Bolt near The Great Movie Ride at Hollywood Studios, so I had to take this shot.

DDW Pic 1654. Wedding Pavilion

Wedding Pavilion
The Wedding Pavilion is located near the Grand Floridian. As I was passing by in the monorail today, I took this shot. You can see that a wedding was taking place, complete with Cinderella's coach.

DDW Pic 1653. Mater Topiary

Mater Topiary
The Epcot Flower and Garden Festival features over 100 topiaries. This Mater one has been here for several years, and is located near a kids playground that is unique to the festival. I took this shot last week, on opening day.

DDW Pic 1652. Coronado Springs

Coronado Springs
The Coronado Springs Resort is one of my favorite places to spend time. It isn't far from home, it is easy to park, and the atmosphere is great. I'm able to set up my "remote office" there, utilizing wifi and an iPad. I took this shot today, as I was walking the grounds.

DDW Pic 1651. Pixar Place

Pixar Place
The Pixar Place area of Hollywood Studios is currently home to Toy Story Mania. However, that section of the park is going to expand into a much larger Toy Story themed land over the next few years. For now, you can see this toy soldier, tinker toy, and domino on top of a building across from the attraction.

DDW Pic 1650. Art of Animation

Art of Animation
The Art of Animation Resort is one of the best themed on Disney property. My favorite section is the Radiator Springs area. I took this shot of the Cozy Cone today, while spending some time at this resort.

DDW Pic 1649. Tom Sawyer Island

Tom Sawyer Island
I took this shot by The Rivers of America last week. I was not far from the Liberty Square Riverboat Landing, looking toward Frontierland. You can see Harper's Mill on Tom Sawyer Island, as well as a little bit of Big Thunder Mountain, if you look through the trees on the left side of the photo.

DDW Pic 1648. Tomorrowland Speedway

Tomorrowland Speedway
The Tomorrowland Speedway is the only attraction remaining in Tomorrowland from the Magic Kingdom's opening day in 1971. I've had hundreds of tour guests ride it, but I saw something last week that I had never seen before. One of my guests was celebrating his birthday, and a cast member attached this large placard to the back of his car.

DDW Pic 1647. Main Street Philharmonic

Main Street Philharmonic
The Main Street Philharmonic has been entertaining Magic Kingdom guests for decades. This fun marching band plays up and down Main Street as well as in Storybook Circus. I took this shot from Tomorrowland Terrace last week, as the group was finishing up a set.

DDW Pic 1646. Meerkats

Although the gorillas are the stars of Pangani Forest Trail at Animal Kingdom, the meerkats are also fun to watch. I took this photo a few days ago, during feeding time. You can see that the trainer is feeding them with a long set of tongs. A cast member told me that meerkats can do serious damage to a human finger if it gets to close to their mouths.

DDW Pic 1645. Flower and Garden Festival

Flower and Garden Festival
The Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival is underway. This spring tradition features seminars, exhibits, food kiosks, and amazing topiaries. This year, the front of the park features Donald Duck and his family. I took this shot yesterday, on the opening day of the festival.

DDW Pic 1644. The Seas

The Seas
The Seas with Nemo and Friends is home to the second largest aquarium in the country. I was giving a tour here today, and noticed some fun photo opportunities. In this shot, you can see the rock-formed hidden Mickey, along with a shark and spotted Ray.

DDW Pic 1643. Dinosaur

While waiting for my tour guests at Dinosaur today, the ride temporarily went down. When this happens, the lights come on and you can see areas that are generally very dark. This is the exit area of the attraction.
